Fossil Shell Flour (D.E.) Food Grade, is a natural mineral primarily composed of amorphous silica. It is not a poison; it is a natural product which creates an environment in which parasites do not find suitable to live in.

Diatomaceous Earth, fossilized deposits of diatoms (tiny phytoplankton found in oceans and lakes), has been used for centuries to control insect pests and parasites. The silica shells of the diatoms kill insects and worms upon contact by desiccating and absorbing the waxy or oily cuticle layer of the bugs. D.E. has advantages compared to synthetic insecticides or de-worming medication because it is natural, effective, non-toxic, and affordable.  

Suggested Feeding Rates For Horses, Beef, Dairy, Swine, and Poulty: Free choice - Can be mixed in animal feed at the rate of 2% by weight of the total ration. Used topically, Diatomaceous Earth should be reapplied after rain. It will not work near high-voltage power lines.
