May 11, 2015 - Homeopathy: Inert or Dangerous?

×

Monday, May 11, 2015 - For many years, the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has repeatedly declared that homeOilsopathic remedies are just inert water and no better than a placebo.

Something must be working, because even though homeopathy and other alternative protocols are not covered by conventional health insurance plans, Americans voluntarily spend more than $3 billion annually on homeopathic products. Homeopathy has been around for centuries, and there is a plethora of peer-reviewed clinical research attesting to its value.

No doubt the 7% annual growth rate of homeopathic medicines is cutting into the market share of the deadly pharmaceutical drug racket, and the FDA has suddenly decided that homeopathy is now imminently dangerous! It is ironic that the same agency that says pharmaceutical drugs, which kill hundreds of thousands of people every year, are "safe and effective" is now declaring war on homeopathy.

A recent FDA "safety alert" and subsequent press release warns consumers to avoid over-the-counter (OTC) homeopathic remedies because such products haven't been evaluated by the agency for safety and effectiveness, which in FDA lingo is the same as saying it is dangerous.

If homeopathy really didn't work or was dangerous as claimed, you can be sure that we would all be hearing about it from the people that actually use it. But the only folks whining about how dangerous and ineffective homeopathy supposedly is are drug industry-sponsored talking heads in the mainstream media and the FDA, which just so happen to receive huge payouts from Big Pharma for giving its stamp of approval to their patented drug.

COMMENT: The ‘Regulators’ can’t have it both ways. Homeopathy cannot be inert and have side effects. Perhaps the folks at FDA need some advanced training in logic as well as in ethics.
